PASSAGE
Solo Exhibit By Kristen Griger
May 17 - June 26, 2024 | Gallery B
“Passage” by Kristen Griger is an exhibit of painted landscapes and scenes done on location or from reference photos. Kristen Griger is a native to Upstate NY, resident of Otsego county, and lives on a hobby farm in the hills of beautiful Cooperstown. Her work consists of oil on canvas using a limited palette of earth tone hues. The paintings are mounted in a simple wooden frame that she has designed and built by hand. This recent body of work is a visceral response to daily adventures while passing through life. Hiking quiet wooded trails, observing clouds dancing across the sky, witnessing diamond-like dappled sunlight on the lake, all inspire her to honor this beauty with her artistic voice.

Meet Me In My Flower Garden
SOlo Show by MAy-Britt Joyce
April 12 - May 8, 2024 | Gallery B
“MEET ME IN MY FLOWER GARDEN”, in Gallery B, by May-Britt Joyce. Her art directly relates to her subject. She focuses on a personally meaningful thought, scene, flower, garden or beloved animal and then proceeds to work on the image using mainly acrylics as her medium. Subjects are drawn mainly from her environment, from her home in Cooperstown to Sweden, and her heritage as a first generation American. May-Britt Joyce’s Artist Statement is as follows: I have always been creative dating back to making unique book report covers in grade school with more gusto than writing the report itself. I did not begin seriously painting until much later in life. I learned techniques of pencil and charcoal then oil from area artists Amy Cannon and Mary Nolan. |

On A Roll & Adjectives, Verbs, & Nouns... Oh MY
By Milford Central School
March 8 - 27, 2024 | Gallery A & B
|
“Adjectives, Verbs, and Nouns… Oh My!” features artwork by 4th and 5th grade students who selected an object (noun), and were then paired with a high school student who selected a verb and adjective! Both the elementary student and their high school partner worked on the project independently! The two pieces of art are going to be exhibited together, and we are excited to see each individual's interpretation of the adjective, verb and noun! This exhibit is the brainchild of Milford Art Teachers Sascha Burdick & Caitlin Cook-Wightman. “On a Roll!” will display works by High school students who designed and carved block prints on large MDF Boards using both traditional printmaking gouges and dremel tools! Once the oversized blocks were complete, they were inked and pressed using a Steam Roller donated by Kiser Sand and Gravel! The result is large prints on both canvas and paper! |
