The Daily Draw: Revisited
-- On Display: July 9 - August 13, 2021
In Gallery B, we will feature "Daily Draw Revisited" that will include artwork from the participants of the CAA's Daily Draw Facebook Group. The CAA organized this daily drawing challenge during February and March of 2021, for artists and non-artists alike. The goal was to help the participants develop a fun, creative habit to improve their skills and provide a space to connect with others, as Covid restrictions were still in full effect. The response was great! Our Facebook Group's page lit up each day with wonderful artwork and supportive comments, and we felt that the work we saw deserved an opportunity to be seen in-person. Participants were given the option to display original sketches from one of our daily prompts, or re-work their initial sketches into finished work, or even display their whole sketchbook!

86th Annual National Juried Art Exhibition
-- On Display July 9 - August 13, 2021
The Cooperstown Art Association is happy to announce the opening of our 86th Annual National Juried Art Exhibition! There will be a Preview Party on Friday, July 9th from 5-7pm to celebrate the opening of the exhibit. This event is free and open to the public! The National Show will remain on display through August 13th.
The Cooperstown Art Association was founded in 1928 presenting only a single show, The Annual Exhibit of Cooperstown Artists. Since then, this annual exhibit has expanded and evolved into The Annual National Juried Art Exhibition. Now officially in its 86th year, we have been continuing to build this exhibit into one of our largest and most expansive shows - utilizing all three gallery spaces at the CAA.
The show encompasses a wide range of media including drawing, painting, photography, printmaking and sculpture. Our 2021 juror, Mary E. Murray, selected entries from across the United States and put together a large, eclectic and stimulating show. This year, we are proud to have 135 artists from 19 states represented in our National Exhibition.

"Recent Paintings" by Robert Moylan
Robert Moylan is a masterful landscape painter hailing from Waterford, NY. Inspired by the rolling landscapes of Rensselaer and Washington Counties, Moylan captures rural beauty in his gouache panoramas. While humans are not depicted, their impact on the landscape is always felt, through glimpses of neatly plowed fields or through farm buildings often found tucked away under dramatic skies or under the light of a full moon.
"The Essence Of" by Carol Saggese
Carol Saggese, has lived in Oneonta, NY all her life and began her creative career later in her life. It is clear that beneath the many layers of her paintings, there lies an expert understanding of the relationships between shape, color, movement and depth. The balance of these key elements provides the foundation of any strong abstract work. Saggese's compositions keep the eye moving and exploring, finding new visual pathways and connections with each pass across the surface of the painting.
