Still Life Class - Friday, June 13:  Bring your favorite object from home and turn it into art! In this class, students will learn how to arrange a setup, sketch their layout, and use tone and shadow to bring the scene to life with acrylic paints. Together we will learn some tricks and techniques so you can bring home a masterpiece!

Still Life Class - Friday, June 20:  In this creative drawing class, we’ll start by learning the basics of perspective - how to make things look close, far, big, and small - using just pencils. Students will then put this knowledge to the test by looking out a window and using it to frame the paper, then drawing the world outside (or one we imagine)! Students will learn how to build a scene with depth, detail, and creativity using graphite and colored pencils. Along the way, we’ll explore shading, texture, and color layering to bring the drawings to life.

About Claire:  I am a passionate artist and a current studio art major at Williams College. A graduate from Cooperstown High School, I enjoy creating a lively community in the art space for people of all ages and abilities. My work consists mostly of drawing and painting as I combine observation, imagination, and personal expression onto my canvas. I am excited to help student build not only skills and confidence, but most importantly a love for the creative process.

Where?  These classes will meet at the specified dates and times in the Cooperstown Art Association's Upstairs Classroom Space.
