Creating Portals & Painting Light
with Cynthia Marsh

Saturday, October 25|  10:00 am - 4:00 pm
$125 CAA Members  |  $130 Non-Members
Registration Deadline October 24 by 4pm

Class Description:  In this workshop, participants will create a sacred geometry form on a painted surface and learn how to create light or glowing effects with dry brush painting techniques. when working with heart centered intention we can mindfully create paintings that can be used in meditation and for protection or healing.

What is Sacred Geometry:  Many teachings describe Sacred Geometry as the blueprint of creation, the very foundation of all form and structure in existence. The ancients believed that the act of drawing these sacred patterns was essential to the education of the soul, unlocking deeper awareness and higher consciousness. These symbols—woven into the fabric of our universe—are not merely shapes; they are energy, light, and profound spiritual codes that can heal, awaken, and transform. I encourage anyone interested in Sacred Geometry to experience drawing it themselves.

About Cynthia:  About Cynthia Marsh: A lifelong artist, muralist and educator, Cynthia has exhibited her work in the NY area for over 20 years where she also painted many public murals. After moving to Colorado in 2010 she became a Forensic Artist in an effort to use her talents in service to others. Cynthia has worked on cases for over a dozen law enforcement agencies and has been featured on several news stories about her work as a forensic artist. She has been a presenter at the Denver Museum of Art, The Denver Museum of Nature and Science, The Denver Botanic Gardens, at CU Boulder and at many Forensic Conferences, schools and Law Enforcement Departments. Her skills as a forensic sketch artist have also been applied in documenting the memories of contactees and near death experiencers. Cynthia’s current work began years ago when symbols and sacred geometries were shown to her in dreams. This evolving body of work represents Cynthia’s best effort at stepping out of the way, and allowing the dreams to come through without judgment, much like the work she does as a forensic artist, documenting the memories of others.

Materials:   All Materials are Provided.

Where:  This class will meet in the Cooperstown Art Association's Upstairs Classroom Space.

Advanced Long Pose Figure Drawing Workshop
with Jonathan Pincus

3 Days  |  Tues - Thurs, July 9 - 11  |  6:00 - 9:00 pm
$200 CAA Members  |  $205 Non-Members  |  Materials Provided

Registration Deadline:

Class Description:  In this advanced, long pose drawing workshop, Jonathan Pincus, MFA cum laude
New York Academy of Art, and Lecturer of Art at Hartwick College will teach 19th
century academic drawing strategies.

Artists such as Thomas Eakins, Kenyon Cox, Frank Vincent DuMond, Robert Henri, Dennis
Miller Bunker and more transformed American Art education when they returned from
Parisian ateliers and taught how to draw the forms of the human body with more accuracy
and precision at The Pennsylvania Academy of Art, National Academy of Design, Art
Students League, and Boston schools.

This fostered the golden age of American illustration during which time Norman Rockwell,
J.C. Leyendecker, Howard Pyle, N.C. Wyeth and others revolutionized American visual
culture. These same principles informed the drawings of models at the Fenimore
Museum’s past exhibition Drawn from Life: Three Generation of Wyeth Figure Studies.

Where?  This class will meet at the specified dates and times in the Cooperstown Art Association's Upstairs Classroom Space.
