F resh New Work at the CAA

The Cooperstown Art Association is pleased to present “An Artistic Discovery” the Congressional Art Competition for Otsego County High School Students. This show is on display in Gallery C through March 26. So come out and celebrate the wealth of talent that Otsego County students have to offer, color and creativity abound in all media brightening up the month of March!

“An Artistic Discovery” is a high school art competition held within the 24th Congressional District by county. Six students who received ribbons for their work at the CAA and will go on to exhibit at Munson - Williams - Proctor Art Institute School of Art Gallery joined by student artwork from Broome, Cayuga, Chenango, Cortland, Herkimer, Oneida, Ontario, Seneca, Tioga and Tompkins Counties. From there one student’s work will go on to be displayed in the corridor leading to the US Capitol along with 49 other high-school artists’ work from across the country. Stop in and see this exciting and fresh exhibit of work by the young aspiring artists of Otsego County.

Our ongoing sales gallery also re-opened on March 5th featuring a large variety of original work by local and regional member artists. Jewelry, ceramics, folk art, fiber and more delight the eyes and make the perfect gift for an anniversary, wedding or retirement. Make someone’s day with an original artwork including oils, watercolors, etchings, photography and more!

The Cooperstown Art Association galleries located at 22 Main Street in the Village Library Building, diagonally across the street from the Baseball Hall of Fame. Gallery Hours: Open Daily 11-4; Sunday 1-4. Closed Tuesdays. Please call 607-547-9777 for more information.
